Happy Thursday everyone!
Today, I thought I'd share a bit more on the Jane Austen Project. If you remember, this is a client room I'm working on. We are currently working on changing her current dining room into a functional office/classroom as she teaches high school classical education courses from home.
This is what we started with.
Their story is a familiar one. They purchased their home nearly 11 years ago, moved in and painted, had more children, got busy in both of their careers and haven't really had the time to make some of the rooms function well for them.
We came up with a design plan, and I went to work.
The plan was pretty simple. Use some of their existing pieces and give them new life as well as find another large piece that would serve as more storage.
I'm happy to say we are making great progress!
We painted and found a beautiful rug. I've refinished both of their existing bookcases and a desk. I found a large hutch that would work beautifully as storage and refinished it as well.
Just look at those beautiful colors! The hutch, which had gorgeous lines to begin with, is practically a different piece now.
This is what the desk and bookcases looked like before.
Here's a sneak peek of them after!
We have a few more things to finish before I do the final staging and reveal but we've made TONS of progress! Next on the agenda is the gallery wall, the desk chair and refinishing some chairs for the class table.
I'm so excited about how the room is coming together and can't wait to show you all more.
I'm off to work on some details for my little guy's party this weekend!
I hope you all have an amazing and productive Thursday!
