Hi everyone! I was able to make over a little chair to go with the desk I shared last week. I've had this chair for months, just waiting for a desk to put it with. It was a sad little thing before, but it had interesting lines. It wasn't as hideously offensive as the desk was in it's before state, but certainly not cute at all. The price was good though, I picked it up at Goodwill for $3.99!
See, not offensive, just boring!!
Sanded and ready for priming!
Once I got the whole thing painted, I wanted to add a little something special. I purchased this rub n buff with my handy 40% off mobile coupon. I've never used it before, but it's really easy to use! I taped off the bottom of the legs to give them a "dipped" look.
That was pretty much it, really easy to use and apply! It dried pretty quickly, which I liked.
I have long been a fan of Schumacher's Chiang Mai Dragon fabric and ordered two swatches of it. One in Aqua and one in Alabaster. The fabric is beautiful, but at $150 a yard it's a bit much for the budget. I actually just ordered this swatch wanting to see what the weight of it was. The swatch was just $5 and free shipping. I was so pleasantly surprised when the swatch arrived! It was approximately 20 x 20! So, I decided it would be perfect for my little chair!!
So much better!
A match made in DIY heaven! I love the combo and the chair is the perfect size for the desk! What do you think? Have you found anything good to DIY lately?
I have just a few more small projects planned for this room and I'll be ready to show you the whole before and after!!
